Hi and welcome. My name is Ashley Buffington and this is New Mexico BizTalk we have a very, very exciting guest. Today we were going to be speaking with Kyleigh Davis from Frontline Coalition and Juice Ritual.
Definitely, we opened Frontline Coalition in August. We’ve just been open a couple of months. So Frontline Coalition and GRI are located inside the gym but are open to everyone. We have been, it’s been a crazy year, to say the least. Opening two businesses at once have definitely been a big thing to take on, but it’s been very exciting. I’ve been in real estate also for the past nine years, so that was kind of my career before this. And then we decided to take this on. So we’ve had a little bit of a pivot, which is a new career path for me. My husband and I own the gym and the Juice bar. He is also a firefighter for Albuquerque Fire Department, and he owns a company called Vulcan Fitness.
We definitely catered a little bit toward everyone. We are a full fitness and wellness center. So we offer a ton of different classes. We are a CrossFit affiliate, so we have all of our CrossFit classes. We have our Booty Boot camp classes, which we call Peachy Pump. We have hit classes and then we also have, two rooms in the back that are for IV infusions and wellness shots. So we offer all different kinds of IV infusion, um, packages, and then different kinds of wellness shots like b12. We have our fat blasters shot and then we have Elite, OSM as well on the back, which is chiropractic. And, they do PT with all kinds of different treatments. So it’s kind of a one-stop shop when you come in you get your full wellness, and then one of the biggest things that I really wanted to bring to Albuquerque was a luxury gym. Aesthetics was one of my biggest concentrations when we were designing the gym and stuff. We have Instagram and stuff. If you guys have ever seen us on Instagram, you can definitely see that the aesthetic is very different than anything here in Albuquerque.
Yes, I know. Our showers are amazing. They’re beautiful. So the aesthetic was definitely a big part of it, but my husband is a firefighter, frontline coalition, the name is, we are geared towards, frontline workers but we are open to everyone else. But we really wanted to create a community for our frontline workers somewhere that they can come that is safe and welcoming a community for them to just thrive after they have had a hard shift, had a traumatic shift. We really wanna create mental health awareness around these things. We are gonna start having some services for that, first responders to come and kind of have a place for debriefing after a tough call or something that they were dealt with on, while they’re on shift. So that’s a big focus that we have at Frontline Coalition as well.
Yeah, Firefighters, and police officers. We have a lot of nurses military as well, people from the base coming. So it’s really kind of any frontline worker that a community of everyone to feel comfortable there. That’s what we’re geared towards and we, even people that aren’t frontline workers have come to the gym and they’re just like, wow. It’s just such a vibe. Everyone’s so welcoming. You know, on our Instagram in the beginning everyone’s kind of like, oh I’m kind of intimidated to get to the gym. I’m kind of intimidated to come in there cuz there are all these crazy badass athletes and stuff. And they come in and then they’re like, wow. Like everyone is so welcoming. And I feel so comfortable here. We just did an event with you guys with the Peachy Pump class and that came out amazing, and a lot of women that just I feel really got inspired to work out from that event. I’ve had a ton of them coming in for classes after that and have just loved it. So that was a great event to get us out there as well so.
I think we had Bria whenever our trainer is there and then Noah and they definitely get everyone just pumped up to be there. They hype everyone up, they gain everyone’s confidence going. So it’s really awesome to have such a great team. And then having juice ritual, we also have just, you know, after your workout you can come to grab some juices or a peachy pump smoothie that we have a protein shake, we have bowls, different kinds of smoothie bowls so you get your full kind of protein snack after.
Right off San Mateo Loma. So we’re kind of conveniently located in the town where you can just hop off the freeway right there and come and grab something. But originally, the juice ritual was kind of an afterthought. I have never done anything in the food industry or never really thought that that was something that I wanted to do. When we were originally looking at spaces, we were looking at places, about 5,000 square feet, and then the space that we’re in, I just fell in love with it when we went to go look at it. But it was double the size where at 11,300 square feet.
What am I gonna do with this space and what can I add to, or what can we add? I and my husband were thinking about, you know, what can we add to create more of just a luxury brand and a full one-stop-shop kind of thing where we have everything under one roof, like the floor recovery, and then also you know, food and beverage as well. So, at the time I didn’t know if I wanted to lease the space out to another juice or smoothie place here in town. And then the more I thought about it, you’re just kind of capping your revenue at that, that point. And I was like, well let’s just start our own business.
Yeah. Just another thing to add on there.I just kind of went for it., I had some guidance, from my friend Antoinette, who previously owned a juice bar and so she kind of helped me guide stuff in that process, which was extremely helpful. So it’s been exciting. A totally different industry than I’ve ever been in before cuz I’ve always been interested in fitness and stuff, but I’ve never ever thought that I would be in the food industry. And so, we just kind of hit the ground running with it and it’s been super busy. One of the things is that in Albuquerque we don’t have a ton of smoothies or juice or fresh pressed juice places. So I think it was something that Albuquerque really needed. And you know, I love good marketing and aesthetics as we’ve said.
So I think that’s a hundred percent, you know, how you can get your brand out there and with social media and stuff now it’s so easy to, such an easy platform to put yourself out there. We’ve grown tremendously just from, you know, Instagram and having events. I’ve held a lot of different events. At the Juice bar since we’ve opened, we had a huge grand opening. We’re actually gonna be doing kind of another, not re-grande opening, but an event in December kind of to get us off on our New Year’s resolutions and kind of kickstart that. So we’re gonna offer every single class that we offer in a row on the same day for everyone to kind of come try it. We’ll be doing some samples from the juice bar as well. So I’ll keep you in touch with what time and day we’re doing that and we’ll post about that as well.
I would say there are so many people that are like, well when’s the right timing? Like, when are you gonna have enough funds? When are you? And I would say there’s never the perfect time. Like, just like when you’re having a baby, everyone’s like, oh, like when’s the right time to become a mom and stuff. And it just happens. And you know, when we were starting this, I lost my dad two years ago and that was really hard on me. I was very close with him and he was such an entrepreneurial person. He owned multiple businesses and that’s kind of where I got that side of things, from him. So I just knew, like I love real estate but I’ve always like wanted to own my own different kinds of businesses with my husband. He’s been in the fitness industry for a long time.
He has always strived to be an example for the community and create a space for the community to come and thrive. He was an instructor up at the academy so he taught a lot of the cadets and firefighters that are coming into the department. So it was always a goal for him to have this space and I always just pushed him. Like with VUL and Fitness, our other company, his partner had just always said, we’re not ready, we’re not ready to have, you know, the gym yet. And I had always just kept pushing him like, no babe like we’re ready. Like, let’s just do it. So we kind of just branched off on our own from that time and you know, the timing is never gonna be perfect, but if you have that goal and you just set your mind to it, you are gonna find a way to get it done. And once you get the ball rolling, you know it’s gonna happen so.
I don’t know if I job so, but I’m definitely trying right now. Being a mom is a full-time job in itself. I have a five-year-old and a seven-year-old boy, so they are definitely a handful. Maddox in Jackson, and that’s my Jess. We do every, I and Jessie do everything for those boys and we wanna create a life for them that, you know, they can do, go on amazing vacations and do stuff that they’re gonna learn from us as creating businesses and hopefully they see that and they have goals like that later on in their life. So everything that we do is kind of for them. But yeah, time management is like number one, and my husband and kind of just like sit down every Sunday and like, okay, We have soccer, we have Jitsu, we have all these different things for the kids, and we kind of build our schedule around that. Luckily we have an amazing team, at the gym and at the Juice Corps. Amazing managers that have really gotten to leverage a lot of things off of them. Getting everything started was definitely an adventure. I learned a lot about time management but just you know, prioritizing the things that are most important. And like I said, those are the boys and so we kind of build our schedule around them, but we are nonstop all the time, so.
So we are on Instagram, it’s at Frontline Coalition, and then Juice Ritual is Juice Ritual dot nm, and we are off of Lomis and San Mateo. Um, you can also look us up at uh, frontline coalition.com and we have all of our different classes on there and our pricing as well.
